How To Read An Amazon eBook Without Having a Kindle

Since I publish my books exclusively on Amazon, I have lots of people ask how they can read the digital eBooks if they don’t have a Kindle.

The great news is, it is possible and it’s actually fairly easy. All you need is an Amazon account.

Amazon has a really great Kindle app available on all kinds of devices, so the first thing you need to do is find and download that app onto your PC, mobile or tablet. The Kindle app is absolutely free.

Install the Kindle app and then log in using your Amazon account.

Then go to your regular web browser and go to Amazon, finding an eBook you want to read. (Maybe the first cozy mystery novella in my Waterfell Tweed series, Once Upon a Crime?)

When you’ve found an eBook you want to read, find the “Buy Now With 1-Click” button that will be on the right-hand side of the book’s page. Underneath this button there is a drop-down menu, click that and choose the device where you want the eBook delivering, then click the “Buy Now With 1-Click” button.

You’ve now purchased the eBook and it will automatically download onto your chosen device as soon as there is a connection for it to do so.

You can open the Kindle app on your device, select the new eBook from the Home page, and begin reading.

This app will allow you to read eBooks on your main PC or Mac, on your phone, or on any other tablet or eReader that you have.

I hope this is helpful to you and, if it is, please consider sharing this with people who’d appreciate knowing about this too!

Happy reading…
