Knives Out: A Cozy Mystery Film Review

Knives Out Cozy Mystery Movie

I was excited to see Knives Out this week in the cinema.

The cozy mystery movie featuring Daniel Craig with an amusing accent (CSI KFC, one character calls him!) came as a happy surprise to me when I first saw it advertised recently. I always love the chance to see anything that classes as being a cozy mystery on the big screen, and the premise of Knives Out sounded very fun!

It features the death of wealthy mystery writer, Harlan Thrombey, on the night of his 85th birthday no less. He was surrounded by his bickering, dysfunctional family for a birthday party but didn’t survive the night. His body is found in his stunning country Manor House by his nurse the next morning.

The police seem pretty eager to wrap it up as a suicide, but the arrival of Benoit Blanc (played by Daniel Craig) changes everything. The ‘last of the gentleman detectives’ suspects foul play!

I won’t share more here because I don’t want to ruin any part of this fun, entertaining movie.

It was escapism at its best. Sit back for a couple of hours and forget all of your worries. Test your wits and see if you can figure out the truth!
